Yayun is studying the roles of DMSP-cleaving pathways in marine photosynthetic algae. Her aim is to understand the functionality and importance of the Alma family DMSP lyases in diverse algae, including Prymnesium parvum and Gephyrocapsa huxleyi, and the environment.
