Our group, with various industrial partners, use seaweeds and/or proprietary microbes and enzymes to produce high-value chemicals, dietary products and plant biostimulants from renewable sources to lessen the dependence on fossil resources, promote the seaweed industry, and in turn capture carbon.

Along with Dr Ben Miller at UEA, we also engineer stress resistant and more nutritious crops with the potential to stimulate climate-cooling gas production.
