Ummay ‘Lethe’ Honi
NRPDTP PhD Student
Lethe explores the biodiversity, distribution and importance of DMSP lyases in symbiotic nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Her current study challenges the belief that DMSP cycling is strictly a marine process, and highlights rhizobia as potentially important DMS producers in terrestrial environments, that might interact with DMSP-producing leguminous plants.
